CCNA Router IOS Features

This page lists router IOS feature sets, versions, and a list of router IOS features included in CCNA. The tables show an X when a particular feature is supported in a particular version and feature set. The information is these tables are based on the Cisco Feature Navigator tool (www.cisco.com/go/fn). Also, this page does not attempt to list cases where a feature may be supported at a particular version/feature set on one model router, but not on another.

This information is provided as a service to the Cisco certification community. Please help by letting us know about any incorrect information listed in this or related pages. If you find information that is not accurate, please let us know at labdata@certskills.com. Please note that we may not be able to reply to each email individually, but will we strive to keep the data accurate.

Why Some Features, but not All?

The purpose of the tables is to see important differences between one feature set and another, specifically when used to practice for CCNA. As a result, the tables do not list every CCNA feature, but rather lists those most likely to be supported in one version/feature set but not another. The following tables list topics on the CCNA exams as implemented on routers.

  • Confirm with Feature Navigator: www.cisco.com/go/fn
  • Email regarding incorrect data to labdata@certskills.com
  • RIP’s version 1|2 command introduced at Version 11.1 per IOS doc.
  • Support for 802.1Q is also dependent on hardware. 2500's do not support it at all. 2600s do but only with some IOS versions. See this page for more on the 2600 routers and more on 802.1Q.
